For those of you who didn't see our house just as we moved in, here are some pictures of Olivia's room from the very beginning. We set up a nursery that would hopefully transition really easily into a big kid room. Now that we've gone through that transition, we are very glad we did. It made the move to a new bed a lot easier on Olivia since not a whole lot else changed.
Here's a Picture from our Final Walk through of the house
No one ever seems to believe us when we say that the ENTIRE house had filthy beat up linoleum floors.
Painting is Done and the first floor board goes in.
Floor Finished and Baseboards put in.
Niki puts together Olivia's Crib. This crib was used by Uncle Mark and the furniture in Olivia's room was refinished by us but originally belonged to Grandma Gleeson (from her childhood).
A Last shot of the nursery. We had already started putting toys in tubs that would be going under the new bed.
Goodbye Crib
It was a bitter sweet weekend taking down the nursery and setting up a new big kid room for Olivia.
We had expected her to stay in the crib for maybe even another year but Olivia being Olivia, she figured out how to climb out of there sooner than we thought. She thought it was quite fun to climb out of the crib onto the dresser/changing table and then scale the room moving on top of the other furniture and emptying every drawer and tossing whatever was in reach onto the floor. Most annoying for us and entertaining for her was to empty out the baby wipes one at a time and toss them around the room. The most impressive part about her climbing abilities is that she is completely silent. Niki and I never actually saw her climb out. We would just find the room a disaster and she would be perched on either the dresser or the desk. Once, I walked in to check on her and she was fast asleep in her crib but the room was a mess anyway. She had apparently climbed out, threw everything around and then got back in bed and took her nap.
