So here's the story. Olivia and her rubber snake were dancing around on the rug when suddenly Olivia stopped, looked the snake right in the face, and then all in a huff, walked over to the time out corner. Very firmly she put the snake down, turned to me and said, "Mama, the snake is in time out. He is not to yell at me anymore." So what are those people in Harry Potter called that can talk to snakes? I may have one.

Discovery Science Center
Gotta love a good kangaroo pelt
This was by far the coolest thing we saw at the center and Niki was already figuring out how to build one for our backyard. It was a giant basin filled with sand and rocks that had a small shower head at the top for water. Check out our damn and the trees just below that we were about to wipe out.
Is this a future scientist in the making? Olivia spent so much time checking out the sea shells and butterflies under the microscope.

We Were Robbed!
The thief. Don't be taken in by the cuteness.
This pair of squirrels chewed a hole in our storage bench to get at a bag of peanuts.
The peanuts were for them. Why did they have to get so greedy and chew up our bench? Their daily ration was more than what they needed.
Making off with the goods.
Enjoying the spoils

A Home for a Worm
Olivia is one of those kids that just loves to dig in the dirt and thoroughly loves learning about bugs. A couple weeks ago we explored the backyard to see what types of bugs we could find and where they were living. I hadn't realized our backyard would hold such a plethora of insects. Olivia can now easily find and talk about aphids, slugs, ants, worms, rolly pollies, beetles, bees, and spiders. To end the day we made a home for a gummi worm. Olivia made dirt by crumbling up chocolate cake.
